“I either do it properly… or not at all”
Maybe you’ve thought this before.
Maybe you’ve even lived by it.
You start strong, training regularly, eating well, doing everything “right”.
And then something happens. Life gets busy, you miss a workout, your routine breaks…
And suddenly it feels like you’ve failed.
So you stop completely.
But here’s the truth:
This all or nothing mindset is one of the biggest reasons people don’t make long-term progress.
1. Perfection isn’t sustainable
Doing everything perfectly might work for a week or two.
But real life isn’t perfect.
There will always be:
- busy days
- low energy
- unexpected changes
If your plan only works under perfect conditions, it’s not a good plan.
Progress doesn’t come from perfection.
It comes from showing up- even when things aren’t ideal.
2. One “Off Day” doesn’t undo everything
One missed workout doesn't ruin your progress.
One unhealthy meal doesn’t destroy your results.
Thinking that it does is not reality, it’s your mindset talking. And even though it’s harsh, but it’s holding you back.
3. Something is always better than nothing
You don’t need a full hour of workout. You don’t need the perfect meal plan.
What matters is that you do something:
- 10 Minutes of movement
- a short walk
- one balanced meal
- going to bed a bit earlier
These small actions might not feel like much- but they keep you in motion and constantly working towards your goals. Even if it doesn’t feel like it.
4. Consistency beats intensity
Extreme phases feel productive, but unfortunately they usually don’t last very long.
What actually creates results is showing up regularly, building habits, doing things even when you don’t feel like it.
Consistency doesn’t mean perfection, it means you keep coming back and showing up for yourself.
Your next ask
Let go of the “I’ll start tomorrow”. Do one good thing for yourself every week, build a lasting habit that eventually you won’t want to drop. Don’t be so hard on yourself for having a quieter day. If you truly believe in yourself, you will be able to do it.
I believe in you!
